Allyson Favuzza, DNP, CRNP, FNP-C, is a certified Family Nurse Practitioner at Hometown Health Care of NEPA. Dr. Favuzza takes great pride in providing the residents of Covington Township, Pennsylvania, with patient-centered, personalized, and comprehensive care for the whole family.

Education has always been of importance to Dr. Favuzza. In 2012 she obtained her Associate of Science in Nursing, followed by her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at The Pennsylvania State University College of Nursing in Dunmore.

Dr. Favuzza achieved her Master of Science in Nursing and FNP specialty from The Pennsylvania State University College of Nursing (Penn State Ross and Carol Nese College of Nursing) in University Park. In 2018, she graduated with a Doctor of Nursing Practice.

Her research includes Capstone: An Evidence-Based Practice Review of Infants with Gastroesophageal Reflux (GER): Non-Pharmacological vs. Pharmacological Interventions and DNP Project: Increasing Human Papillomavirus Vaccination Rates through a Multimedia Intervention. She has contributed to numerous peer-reviewed publications.

Her certifications include FNP-C with the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), Neonatal Resuscitation Program with the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and Basic Life Support with the American Heart Association (AHA).

In 2019, Dr. Favuzza served as adjunct faculty at Wilkes University Wilkes-Barre, where she instructed both didactic and clinical masters-level courses in the FNP program. She also served at The University of Scranton and Pennsylvania State University University Park, providing live hands-on clinical instruction in the simulation lab to students in master’s and doctoral programs.

Dr. Favuzza worked as a Contract Nurse Practitioner at Little Pediatrics Port in Jervis, New York, providing clinic and after-hours coverage on weekends or when the pediatrician was out of the office.

At Main Street Pediatrics of Greater Scranton, in Dickson City, Pennsylvania, she worked as a Nurse Practitioner, managing a panel of patients from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds and providing them with comprehensive primary care services.

As the President and owner of Hometown Health Care of NEPA, Dr. Favuzza oversees the community-based primary care office and provides excellent care for children and adults. She precepts students from multiple health disciplines, including nursing and advanced medicine, and she has a special interest in family medicine.

She warmly welcomes all patients into the practice and looks forward to caring for them.
